I was born in Mena, Arkansas and raised in Fort Smith. I lived in Fayetteville the first few years after college, eventually returning to the Fort Smith area. In 2005, my husband and I returned to NWA, where we intend to stay. I graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor's in Special Education, which I taught for 12 years.
